It has been noted before that Zebadiah is easy to take care of since he doesn’t eat. Sometimes he likes to look at food and drinks. He is always curious of the flavors and aromas that emit from them.
Zeb is watching over the grill and hopes those are Chicken legs!
Over the weekend, my wife stocks her workplace with water, drinks and snacks. Zebadiah had heard about the big Grizzly bear that she works beside everyday. This time he got to go and see for himself.
“Wow!” said young Zeb. The bear is huge compared to the little rubber duck. He wonders what it would be like to live in the forest, but thinks he will stay in the city for now. Zeb would not even be an appetizer for this thing.
I don’t know all the details as to the reason the bear became my wife’s office mate. I’m sure there is story there somewhere.
It turns out Zebadiah likes country music just like I do. He watched the awards show humming with the songs and anticipating the next song and trying to pick the winners. Zeb does have a few favorites, Reba being one of them.
He has an opinion of the state of country music as well. Zeb says some songs are not country but he listens anyway. It’s hard to beat Three chords and the truth but then again, it doesn’t hurt to be diverse either. Without diversity, wouldn’t life be boring?
Today Zebadiah finally made it down to the creek that is just behind our house. It was a cool overcast spring day after a nice rain from the day before. He has often wondered about this creek and it was time for him to take a little swim.
As he waddles around in the water he can almost make out some of his live relatives over his shoulder. He wishes they would come closer to visit, but the live ducks are not to sure about young Zebadiah, being a green rubber duck and all. Being the optimist that he is, Zeb thinks he may get to know them better at some point. Only time will tell.
Zebadiah loves this little concrete filled creek. It is peaceful and away from the everyday life in the city. There are deeper waters not too far away so he is careful not to swim too fast or far. He can hear other birds the background as he enjoys the cool water.
Zeb plans to come here often. He dreams that someday he will meet other rubber ducks floating lazily down stream.
Anyone that knows me knows I love basketball. Luckily Zebadiah is no different. He likes to watch the Dallas Mavericks and Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Zeb loves March Madness for sure but he hasn’t gotten to watch any games yet. Today will be different.
With Texas Tech in the Final Four for the first time, Zeb had to get a new camouflage Texas Tech shirt. We couldn’t find a Final Four tee shirt for him but I got one or two for myself. We will watch the game on TV in the comfort of my easy chair.
Zeb doesn’t get as excited as I do nor does he yell at the TV, but I can tell that he enjoys the game too.
As the sun filters in from the kitchen window, the steam rises from the cup, the air is filled with the aroma of coffee. A good hot cup of coffee with some cream and sugar starts my day!
Coffee is one of the best things in the morning to me. The aroma of fresh coffee when the can is opened is hard to beat, although frying bacon may give it a run for its money. The next best thing is the warm, mildly sweet, creamy first sip, Mmmm!
Morning coffee with Zeb is pretty much the same each day. He doesn’t talk, or drink coffee but he does like to hang around the kitchen table. I think Zeb likes the way coffee smells too! I am not sure Zebadiah will ever try coffee, but as time goes on, something may change his mind.
I decided to start a new project to help improve my photography and creativity. 30 days, 30 images, 1 lens/camera and each photo has to include the adventures of Zebadiah Duck.
This first post will bring us up to speed on young Zeb and will include more than one photo, probably not from the one lens/camera either.
Meet Zebadiah Duck!
Sometimes he goes by Zeb. He was born into a really, really large duck family. He hopes to see them again at some point, but so goes the life of a rubber duck. His family migrated like a lot of Ducks. I’m not sure where his parents are. Just guessing, they are over seas, which seems logical for a duck like Zeb. I feel certain most of his brothers and sisters have found good homes too. He is happy!
He arrived at our house a few days ago and has settled in nicely. So far, he is easy to take care of and doesn’t eat, drink, or poop, which is rare for most ducks. I guess he is special. Zeb does like water, but hasn’t been out of the house yet. I suppose he is still acclimating to his new home and family. He just kind of sits around.
Zeb doesn’t do the same things most ducks do either, but we may see him fluttering around in the birdbath or down by the creek. Zeb will choose a wife someday, but that will come later in his life. He has long noticed a pretty little pink duck, but doesn’t know her name yet. He would like to travel the world someday, but for now, he loves Texas. It may be hard to see Zebadiah sometimes as he adorns his camouflage outfit everyday. He doesn’t like to draw attention but none the less he will be somewhere in each photo.
