Daily Walk

Most days at lunch, I take a walk around the neighborhood. Partially for exercise and partially for photos. Sometimes I find a photo here and there that I have not seen before, even though my path is generally the same.

The sun was hitting this prickly pear just right to make in look intimidating. I remember as a kid getting stuck with these things. Not fun!

City Sky

Living in the city has it’s advantages, except for traffic, and skylines among a few other things.

I have to be selective when I take pictures of a nice sunrise or sunset to avoid all the other stuff around. It takes about an hour to drive somewhere else to see the horizon.

But sometimes…

A sign of the Times

Earlier in the spring we took a quick trip to East Texas. Coming back home we crossed Lake Tawakoni.

Before we crossed there was a little park, but coming out on the road I couldn’t pass up this shot.

Its a good thing they put this bridge here. Where else would they put all those signs?

Also, does the water curve underneath a bridge or is this an optical illusion?

Art of the Mother-in-Law

If you have read my bio on this site, you will see a blurb about my Mother-in-Law who lives with us.

She has a creative side as well. The other day I saw her in the back yard by our Magnolia tree doing her daily walk but didn’t think much about it. I went for a walk and noticed this on one of our patio tables.

These are the spent Magnolia flowers from the tree and one of my gloves.

The next day she had four more patterns, but I didn’t get the shot before she gathered them up and threw them in the refuse bag.
