Here it is. January, 2019. 2018 is all a blur now. I wanted to have this ready by the first but a bout with a cold kept my peanut brain occupied.
Here are some pictures I took throughout the year. I am only posting one photo per month. Its kind of hard when I have a little less that 9000 pictures from 2018. And that’s not counting some from the cell phone.

An old empty jail is a good jail

Last weekend we took a road trip to Paul’s Valley Oklahoma to meet some of Juanita’s family they had not seen in a while.
I went out before just sunrise with my camera to see what I could see. I found this cool old service station in downtown.
The front door was open. I didn’t see any “Keep Out” or “No Trespassing” signs. I couldn’t resist so, of course, I went inside.
I yelled “Hello, Anyone here!” but my echo was the only answer.
I didn’t hang around inside too long nor did I venture too far. I really wanted to go upstairs but decided I probably shouldn’t. It looks like they are attempting to restore the place. Its too nice to let it fall into ruins.

When I find places like this, I leave them exactly the way I find them too. The Monkey says it all.

This is a correction post. I mistakenly said this church was in Ft. Sumner, NM when actually it is in Taiban, NM.

Thanks

The first full week of August we took a family vacation to Arizona with the city of Sedona as the final destination. Several hours of driving and a few hundred photos later, unfortunately we had to come back home.
We are ready to go back to see and do some of the things we missed. I didn’t get to capture some of the beauty in the Red Rocks because of Forrest fires in the area. The smoke caused some very hazy and interesting shots, especially in the early mornings.
Over the next few weeks I will post some photos of the beautiful scenery, (some in its own way) structures and landscape we saw.
Spiritual:

We attended Mass Sunday morning in Sedona at St. John Vianney church.

When Mass was over we went sight seeing to the Chapel of the Holy Cross.

There are some very spiritual connections all around Sedona. The city actually has a Vortex Map. Although we did not go to many of the Vortex’s, Chapel of the Holy Cross was very peaceful and pretty.
Stay tuned for more over the next few weeks.
Until next time, Peace be with you!
