Zebadiah Duck – Day 22

30-30-1 Project Day 22

On the road trip to Canyon Lake over the weekend, Zebadiah saw many pretty wildflowers along the road. Once we got to Canyon Lake he had to venture out to see them.

The Bluebonnets were already turning to seed and the mowers had cut some of them down, but the yellow wildflowers were everywhere making a very pretty drive. Wild Verbena was growing adding some purple hues along the way.

Zeb is partial to the yellow flowers because most of his relatives are yellow.

Zebadiah Duck – Day 21

30-30-1 Project Day 21

Two for one today since we didn’t have internet access this weekend.

Easter Sunday –
The egg is an ancient symbol of new life and rebirth. In Christianity it became associated with Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. Easter eggs, also called Paschal eggs, are eggs that are sometimes decorated.

At this time of year, some farm stores sell little chicks and baby ducks. Years ago my parents purchased a few chicks but never a duck. They would raise the chickens and eat or give the eggs away to our neighbors.

Zebadiah did not come from a farm store but the local Wild-Mart had plenty rubber ducks.

While at our Easter Egg hunt, Zeb sees the colorful eggs and remembers the little pink duck. He thinks of her often. Sometimes he thinks he sees her in the distance. But wait, is that…?

Zebadiah Duck – Day 20

30-30-1 Project Day 20

Holy Saturday – Lent is over for 2019. Not much happens on Holy Saturday. Those that gave up something for lent can have it again, but I am not so sure that is the meaning of the sacrifice. This year we gave up red meat. I sure would like a hamburger!

Zebadiah didn’t really give up anything, since after all he is a rubber duck, but nonetheless he gets to help with my sacrifice.

Zeb finally gets to take a road trip to Canyon Lake, Texas over the Easter weekend. He would sure like to get in that pretty water!

Zebadiah Duck – Day 17

30-30-1 Project – Day 17

While in downtown Dallas we decided to find the giant 19-feet high 53-feet wide Dirk Nowitzki mural. After a crazy GPS enabled drive, we finally found it.

Zebadiah is quite small compared to the mural, as you can see, but he really likes Dirk. I think it is quite curious because you would think a rubber duck would follow anyone, much less a Dallas Mavericks legend.

Zebadiah Duck – Day 16

30-30-1 Project Day 16

Well the project is halfway over and Zebadiah has had fun. Today he gets to take another little road trip to Downtown Dallas Texas to see the Dallas Skyline from the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. Unfortunately it was raining like crazy. At one point we couldn’t even see the road.

Zeb doesn’t mind the rain. He says “It’s like water off my back!” My camera and me think otherwise. He wanted to go farther to see the Trinity River, but we turned around and headed back to the truck eventually home.

Maybe someday when the weather is better, we will go back.

Zebadiah Duck – Day 13

30-30-1 Project Day 13

OOPS! I missed Day 13

Even though Zebadiah likes food, he obviously can’t cook. This Cast Iron Skillet Apple Blueberry Pie looks really good to a rubber duck, but of course he can’t eat it. We make sure he is in the other room before we eat this right out of the oven with a big scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream melting all over it.

Mmm..It sure was good. Sorry Zeb!

Zebadiah Duck – Day 14

30-30-1 Project Day 14

Zebadiah likes flowers and always takes time to stop and smell. He says they are “smiles from heaven”. The yellow flowers remind him of some of his little yellow relatives that he misses and hopes to see someday.

Zeb would like to see the fields of bluebonnets, but will have to wait till the weather is better. Maybe next weekend when he takes his first trip to the Texas Hill Country.

Zebadiah Duck Day 11

30-30-1 Project Day 11

Growing up in the city has some advantages. You can drive almost any direction to find good places to eat, and shop. Sometimes this is a disadvantage because its easy to go a little overboard with spending, especially if you are on a tight budget.

The only time Zebadiah has been this high in the air is when his family migrated to Texas. He was too young to remember how they actually got here. Zeb wanted to see for himself the roadwork that is the backbone of the city.

Although the amount of traffic is very low this morning, He thinks he will stay closer to the creeks and ponds. Why would a duck need to be on the highway anyway?

Zebadiah Duck – Day 4

30 – 30 – 1 Project Day 4

Yesterday when Zebadiah was out in the backyard enjoying the sunrise, he spotted the birdbath. He couldn’t wait to try it out since we are several yards away from the creek. Although he dreams of adventure and travel, Zeb doesn’t like to get too far from the house yet.

He thought he would make the best of it today. The temperature is nice, the winds are calm and the sun is shining.

The bird feeder is not too far away from the house so Zeb can get up close an personal with nature. Squirrels, Cardinals, Blue Jays, Mocking Birds, Sparrows and Carolina Chickadees frequent the feeders and birdbath.

I’m not too sure the birds and squirrels are very comfortable with a green rubber duck floating in their birdbath. Zebadiah has been floating out there all day!
