I wrote in another post we took a trip to Sedona, Arizona for our family summer vacation. While we were close, we decided to take a not so quick 4 hour road trip to the Grand Canyon West Rim.
On the drive, there we went through the Grapevine Mesa Joshua Tree Forrest. These trees are a members of the Yucca plant.

About ten more miles the Grand Canyon West Rim and Sky walk. Forrest fires in California and Arizona created some challenging and interesting shots.

Very pretty site to see. The Grand Canyon is a marvel at best. I can’t imagine how much water passed through to create such beauty.

This is a correction post. I mistakenly said this church was in Ft. Sumner, NM when actually it is in Taiban, NM.

Thanks

The first full week of August we took a family vacation to Arizona with the city of Sedona as the final destination. Several hours of driving and a few hundred photos later, unfortunately we had to come back home.
We are ready to go back to see and do some of the things we missed. I didn’t get to capture some of the beauty in the Red Rocks because of Forrest fires in the area. The smoke caused some very hazy and interesting shots, especially in the early mornings.
Over the next few weeks I will post some photos of the beautiful scenery, (some in its own way) structures and landscape we saw.
Spiritual:

We attended Mass Sunday morning in Sedona at St. John Vianney church.

When Mass was over we went sight seeing to the Chapel of the Holy Cross.

There are some very spiritual connections all around Sedona. The city actually has a Vortex Map. Although we did not go to many of the Vortex’s, Chapel of the Holy Cross was very peaceful and pretty.
Stay tuned for more over the next few weeks.
Until next time, Peace be with you!

The City celebrated the Fourth of July with a parade in the morning and fireworks in the evening.

Oak Point Park this Fourth of July. The temperature was in the mid to upper 80’s. The light wind blowing from the Southwest was welcome.
While we were a good distance away from the festivities, but we had a really good view of the site.

Happy Birthday America!
