We had clouds during the first contact of the eclipse. It made for some anxious times. The clouds were moving pretty fast. It did create an interesting shot.

While getting ready for the Annular eclipse, I captured an airplane in the middle of the sun!

I decided after all these years to go out and try to capture some meteors during the Perseus Meteor Shower. This year I left my house at 4:00am and drove to the Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge. It’s the darkest place near my house.
I saw a lot more than I captured

I would do it again.

Crepuscular rays (also called sun rays and sunbeams) are created when sunlight shines through gaps in clouds and continues through an atmosphere that contains dust and/or haze.
I saw this on my morning walk.

It seems odd, because the sun was rising in the other direction!

Last Saturday I left the house with camera in hand and drove to the Hagerman Wildlife Refuge in hopes to capture some shots of the nesting Bald Eagles. Much to mu surprise there were three Whooping Cranes that stopped by to rest.

They were a little too far away for my Tamron 100-400 but a cool site nonetheless.

I wen back to the lake to see if the Eagle was there. I went back to the same area and lo and behold, there one was sitting on the same tree branch.

This time I was able to get a little closer without disturbing the bird.

I’ll try again but I’m going to rent a Tamron 150-600mm lens.

Early morning at the Hagerman Wildlife Refuge is very peaceful and pretty. There were about 1000 Snow and Ross geese there.

The first shot of a duck for the day. It was swimming away from the sunrise but turned around.

Appropriately for the season, I saw this girl coming back from the Hagerman Wildlife Refuge last Tuesday.

Happy Thanksgiving!
